Douglas High School utilizes a traditional schedule Monday-Thursday. Each class is 50 minutes with our school day ending at 3:21 p.m. We also have a CATS Intervention period of 30 minutes each day (Monday-Thursday). CATS is designed to connect students with teachers. It provides students the opportunity to complete class work, make up missing work, and get assistance from teachers with curriculum content and standards.
On Friday's we utilize an early release schedule. Our last class on Friday will dismiss at 1:32 p.m. for Friday School Intervention time. Intervention time is 1:32 to 3:21 for students. Students needing to complete class work and course requirements are encouraged to stay from 1:32 to 3:21 to get additional assistance from teachers. A bus is provided to students who need transportation home at 1:32.
At times Douglas High School utilizes an early out schedule. This schedule has been designed for staff development purposes, as well as, inclement weather. A few days each year we dismiss students early so that we may work with our staff. At times it also becomes necessary to release students early due to weather related issues. This schedule releases students at 1:15 p.m.
Also due to inclement weather we have may need to utilize a late start schedule. Classes will begin at 10:00 a.m. on late start days.
