November 2018 Outgoing School Board Members

Thanks to our outgoing school board members for all the time they dedicated to the district. We appreciate you! Their last meeting was in November.

Jim Bolinger served on the Converse County School District 1 school board since being appointed in 2014. Jim served on the transportation committee and chaired the facilities and maintenance committee during his tenure. He’s was also the board’s vice-chair. He last served as the liaison to the Intermediate School.  Jim’s practical wisdom on matters related to business and facilities will be missed. Jim, thanks for your service to the district!

Mark Curtis was a member of the board since 2010, serving in a number of capacities including leading the negotiations team (what fun!) and spearheading the work of the board on the new rec center. Mark held several offices including chairman. He was also recently a liaison to the high school. His commitment to excellence and expertise with regard to the social emotional needs of our kids will be especially missed. Thank you, for your many years of service.

Kim Hiser was the longest serving member of the board, having been elected in 2006. Kim also served in a number of officer roles, represented the district on both BOCES boards, was a liaison to different schools, most recently the Primary School. She served in the difficult role of chair of the policy committee. But mostly what we’ll miss about Kim is her passion for the underdog, for kids who need an advocate, and her service to the community. Kim, we will certainly miss your historical knowledge…thanks for your work on behalf of the district.
